Quilter Cheviot has announced a raft of new hires to its business development teams across the country, enhancing the support it provides financial advisers and clients.

Julian Stapleton and Chris Ashton have both joined as BDMs for the South region. They will be responsible for supporting existing relationships with financial advisers and private clients, while also helping to position Quilter Cheviot’s products and services to prospective clients.

Stapleton most recently spent 17 years at Rathbones, working in the sales team since 2015 and where he became business development director before departing at the end of 2024.

Ashton also joins from Rathbones where he was most recently the lead business development executive for London and the South. He has over a decade of experience in the financial advice industry.

Benjamin Johnson has also joined the team for the South as a business development executive, while Harry Forde and Aiden Campbell join in the same role covering the North. Johnson joins having held client support roles within a national independent financial advice firm, meanwhile Forde was previously at commodities insight firm Attara and Campbell moves to Quilter Cheviot from global professional services firm Marsh McLennan.

David Butler, head of business development at Quilter Cheviot, said: “We are really pleased to be in a position where we can bolster the support we give to advisers and our clients at a time when nervousness is creeping into markets and the global environment appears uncertain.

“Julian and Chris bring a real depth of experience when it comes to communicating and supporting advisers and they will be real assets not only to us but for those that recommend our products and services too. Bringing in a number of business development executives too means we can extend the support we offer and ensure we are well placed to give advisers the information and reassurance they need.”
