Market Harborough Building Society has appointed mortgage industry leader Alison Pallett as an independent non-executive director.

Taking up the role in January, the appointment builds on Alison’s existing relationship with Market Harborough, having joined its Lending Advisory Panel in 2025.

Her move to the board will bring her specialist mortgage and intermediary perspective into the Society’s wider strategic decision-making.

With more than 40 years’ experience in mortgages and financial services, Alison has held senior positions at Nottingham Building Society, LiveMore Capital and Bank of Ireland, with particular expertise in intermediary distribution, broker partnerships and specialist lending. She has also served as a director of IMLA.

Iain Kirkpatrick, CEO of Market Harborough Building Society, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Alison to our board. Over the past year, she has already made an important contribution through our Lending Advisory Panel, bringing challenge, insight and a genuine understanding of the mortgage and intermediary markets. Her appointment brings a strong intermediary voice to the board and she shares our determination to deliver even better outcomes for customers and brokers. Her experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow our specialist lending business while staying true to our purpose-led approach.”

Alison Pallett commented: “Having worked with Market Harborough through its Strategic Lending Advisory Panel, I’ve seen first-hand the ambition and care behind the Society’s plans. There’s a real sense of energy and drive across the organisation, underpinned by a culture that remains genuinely people-focused and collaborative. I’m looking forward to bringing my mortgage and intermediary experience to the board and helping the Society continue to deliver for its members, customers and broker partners.”
