Barclays has announced rate reductions across its residential purchase and remortgage ranges.

Available from tomorrow, selected residential rates will see reductions of up to 0.50%.

For residential purchase, the lowest two-year fixed rate at 60% LTV is now 4.60% with an £899 fee.

At 75% LTV, two-year fixed rates have reduced by 18-22bps, now starting from 4.67%.

Higher LTV products have seen reductions of up to 0.10%, with 80% LTV two-year fixed rates now starting from 4.80% and a fee-free 95% LTV rate reducing to 5.35%.

Five-year fixed rates have seen smaller rate reductions of up to 0.10%, with the lowest rate now at 4.58%, available up to 60% LTV with an £899 fee.

The largest reductions are to 10-year fixed rates, with 60% LTV and 80% LTV products reducing by 0.50% to 5.12% and 5.53% respectively, both with a £999 fee.

In Barclays' remortgage range, selected two-year fixed rates at 60% LTV and 75% LTV, alongside Great Escape rates, have decreased by up to 0.13%.

For existing customers, selected two and 10-year fixed rates at 60% and 75% LTV are reducing by up to 0.20%.

Jatin Patel, head of mortgages, savings and insurance at Barclays, said: “Recent market volatility means many homeowners have understandably been keeping a close eye on mortgage rates. We are pleased to announce a number of rate reductions live today across our mortgage range.

“However, it’s important that homeowners know they don’t always need to hold off on decisions while they wait for rates to change. Many lenders, including Barclays, offer the option to secure a new mortgage up to 90 days before end of their current deal, with the flexibility to switch if a better rate comes along. In periods of uncertainty this can help provide peace of mind for consumers looking to plan their next move.”
