Lloyds Banking Group has revealed that £2.5 million of its Green Living Reward (GLR) has been paid to customers through the intermediary channel.

Lloyds says this marks a milestone for the scheme, as demand for energy‑saving home changes through brokers grows, and suggests that uptake reflects growing engagement when financial incentives and adviser guidance are in place.

The GLR provides cashback when eligible energy efficiency measures are completed. Across all distribution channels, £6 million has now been paid, designed to reduce emissions, lower energy costs and support longer‑term sustainability across UK homes through practical means.

Lloyds says that intermediaries have played an important part in the delivery of Green Living Reward, helping their clients understand what’s available and how to access funding to complete the work.

L&C Mortgages is the leading broker firm, passing on £150,000 in Green Living Reward cashback to its customers.

Green Living Reward forms part of Lloyds Banking Group’s wider offer for those choosing more sustainable homes at key decision points, including purchase and remortgage. This includes £250 cashback on purchasing EPC A or B-rated homes and enhanced affordability for EPC A and B-rated homes, designed to make higher‑performing properties more accessible.

Earlier this year, Lloyds Banking Group announced a partnership with the Green Finance Institute (GFI) to fund a scholarship programme focused on green home finance education for mortgage brokers.

The programme is currently being expanded from 300 to 500 places and is designed to enable more informed conversations about sustainable housing and home retrofit options.

Andy Dean, head of housing and sustainability, Lloyds Banking Group, said: "Reaching £2.5 million paid through our intermediary partners reflects growing demand from customers looking to bring down bills and make their homes more efficient. Brokers are helping people understand what’s available and how to access that.

"We’re backing that through the Green Living Reward, improved affordability and investment in adviser education. We’ve already expanded our Green Finance Institute scholarship programme due to strong demand."

David Hollingworth, associate director at L&C Mortgages, said: "We’re delighted to have played a part in helping so many people take advantage of the valuable incentive that the Green Living Reward cashback offers. Reaching £ 2.5 million in cashback through the intermediary channel alone reflects the strength of demand and the role brokers play in helping customers manage the cost of improving property energy performance.

"With energy costs on the rise once again, more homeowners are likely to consider how best to retrofit and improve their property’s efficiency."
