Property data provider, Cotality, has become the newest member of the Open Property Data Association (OPDA), joining its mission to transform the home buying and selling journey.
As an integrated partner to the UK property market, Cotality holds a database of over 150 million property records, spanning more than 25 years of historical transactional data, and monitors around 30.9 million UK residential properties daily for events that affect value and risk.
Drawing on more than 100 sources of data, its analytics and workflow tools support estate agents, lenders, surveyors, and conveyancers across the property transaction chain - including valuation and surveying software used in nearly all UK property valuation instructions. Through solutions such as its integrated Lender Hub, Cotality already connects and digitises critical workflows, accelerating key stages of the transaction process.
Cotality joins an expanding network that includes all major high street banks, building societies, conveyancers, estate agents, technology providers, and property professionals working together to support the adoption of open property data standards and accelerate the industry's digital transformation.
Since its launch, OPDA has developed open property data standards and models designed to create trusted, reusable and shareable property information. These standards have been created collaboratively across the industry to help reduce friction, improve transparency and support a more efficient transaction process.
Mark Blackwell, chief operating officer at Cotality, said: “At Cotality, our mission is to make the UK property industry faster, smarter, and more people-centric. Through our integrated platforms – including our Lender Hub – we are already helping lenders and surveyors connect digitally, removing friction across the transaction chain. OPDA’s mission aligns directly with our strategic direction. We deliver significant parts of this data and digital connectivity on the ground today. Joining the association is a natural stepping stone, sharing our experience to help shape the framework needed to make home buying and selling faster, more reliable, and transparent for everyone.”
Maria Harris, chair of the OPDA, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Cotality to the OPDA. As one of the sector's most established data and analytics providers, they bring deep technical expertise and proven integration across lenders and valuation networks. Their involvement will be invaluable as we continue to build open, trusted standards to create a faster, more connected home buying and selling process.”
